I was having a really hard time with not worrying this morning about lots of different things and also with being content. Anyway, I read Philippians 4 in my devotions and felt completely convicted! Everyone should read it for themselves, but here are a few things that I found.
"Be careful" (or anxious) "for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication WITH thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
And we all know this, but I don't think most of us really obey it:
"Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." _Phil. 4:6-8
vs. 11 says "...for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therin to be content."
I guess we could all take the "state" thing literally. :)
I also found verses 13 and 19 to be very helpful. Again I am reminded of how blessed we are to have the Bible to help us during tough times. Can you imagine being in a Country where Bibles are confiscated, or where they don't even know what a Bible is?!! Lately I've felt very burdened about this...but that's for another post! |

Thank you for making this post. It helped me out!
I've been struggling with some of the same things, and losing. Thanks.
And no, you can make all of your post under "Motivation" for all I care! :) |
