We see so much of the world living a life with absolutely nothing. In many countries all over the world, people have only what is on their back and few, if any, meager possessions. As Americans that have need of nothing our hearts break for them. Our money can buy anything our hearts desire, but the right perspective can change it all!

God gave my family and I, as well as many young people in our church, the opportunity to go to Juarez, Mexico, for a week and pass out Spanish copies of the Bible. With a few exceptions of people driving by, every person I spoke to, in what little Spanish I know, did not ignore me. They did not look down their noses at me and critically explain their own religious convictions. They did not let me know that what I was doing was illegal and anti-social. They all accepted what I said, and what I gave them, graciously, and with a smile! At first I thought it might have something to do with the fact that a sweating, sunburned American was talking to them in broken Spanish and they felt bad for him. But as the week went on I found that they were hungry for it! Many of them began reading it immediately after I gave it to them, some of them all the way through!

When we got home, as much as my heart was broken for the Mexican people, it was broken even more for America. America is the greatest country on earth. We have every possession we desire at our fingertips, yet we still have nothing! We no longer desire the things of God. America was founded on principles taken directly from the Word of God yet we have come so far from them. It is only by God's wonderful grace that we have been allowed to exist as long as we have. America needs the Gospel as much, if not more, than Mexico.

Look at this verse and see if this does not sound like American Christians.

"Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth." - Deuteronomy 6:12-15

American Christians have allowed the world to permeate their Christianity. Unless Christians make a change, America will be destroyed because we have forgotten God. We challenge you to do something about it! "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3). Hold fast to the foundation our forefathers built this country on! Live a life that is honoring to God. Be bold for him. Allow God to start something with you that can not be ignored. Together, let us bring America back to God. It is a daunting task, but, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13). In Acts 17, a man of God named Jason was accused of turning the world upside down. What a testimony! It all starts with one surrendered person. It all starts with one person not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It could all start with you!
